Dear Friends and Neighbors,

2011 is behind us now and 2012 is here. We have seen many changes; not only our town but in the world as a whole.

From layoffs, furloughs and the great compost pile scandal – to floods everywhere in the US to tsunamis and nuclear plant meltdowns in Japan – 2011 was a rough year for many but we must remember the good times as well. All too often we focus on the negative and the positives become overshadowed. Many layoffs were averted and the town returned to a normal work schedule. Pink Floyd said it many years ago in a song – “Bring the boys back home” and with the war in Iraq finally coming to a close, many of the men and women of our armed services are returning home. For a funny re-cap of the year, check out the video “2011 Buh-Bye” on www.jibjab.com.

I want to take this time to thank all of the first responders and the veterans – both home and abroad – those that have given some and those that gave it all – to ensure a safer town, state, country and world for all of us.

Thank you and I wish everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous and safe 2012!

Sincerely,
Campbell Brown
